“I simply want to tell you that there are some men in this world who were born to do our unpleasant jobs for us.”
Throughout the passage, Lee uses miss Maudie to describe the people in Maycomb. I can see Miss Maudie’s view on Maycomb county. Maudie says that only men like Atticus do the unpleasant jobs that no one else wants to do. This means that the rest of Maycomb are cowards.
Also, the repetition of the pronoun ‘us’ is used by Harper Lee to suggest that she is one of them people.
