What happened’s when you break social contracts? TKAM CHP1
Social contracts are expectations that society expects people to do like a dare. If people break this then there would be a sense of shame flowing around your friends. This was seen in chapter 1 when Jem accepted the dare. Jem never declined a dare because he knew that he wouldn’t have the same amount of respect. It said ‘In all his life, Jem had never declined a dare’.
I was surprised that Jem did the dare as he didn’t brake his social contract but he broke mr Radleys social contract. This means that Jem is on danger of less respect.
