Re-write of Macbeth’s letter to lady Macbeth.

My dear. I have some important news to share with you. Don’t worry about anything as it is all under control.

I am pleased to share to you my love that I have been promoted to ‘leader of Cawdor’. This is because us scots have won the battle with our great king Duncan acknowledging my bravery and determination. The memory’s of the battle are horrific but the excitement has taken over my memories.

As well as the battle, I had some unusual news. I came across three weird sisters who looked very mysterious. They told me and Banquo two really big prophecies. The weird sisters said that I will become king in the future. I was shocked at this news. However, they told Banquo that he won’t become king but his son will. After that, there was a big roar of thunder and they disappeared.

What will happen if these prophecies were real? When would this happen? What will happen to the great king Duncan?

Anyway, I will inform you more when I get back.

Love,  Macbeth.

H/w. In what ways does Shakespeare control our impressions of LM?

Shakespeare makes an impression in the audience mind that lady Macbeth is a dominate character in the play as she is showed as being demanding and persuasive.  One way that he shows this is when Macbeth is having second thoughts about killing king Duncan. When lady Macbeth hears about this, she was not impressed. This meant she was angry and so she strongly opposed to Macbeth’s second thoughts and managed to Persuade him to kill king Duncan. This sticks in the audiences minds that she is the most dominant character in the play.
